Update: the financial transaction I was counting on to buy the laptop still hasn't materialised. I am being assured that this is simply a matter of time and the delay is caused by local authorities blocking a payment that has already been wired, rather than any reluctance on the client's part.
In short - I'm waiting on the money to hit my account before I go on a shopping spree. As a result, end of next week is probably a more realistic estimate, as it would take me at least five days to install and enable ADSL connection at my flat.
On the flipside, I am being assured that a $1.5k laptop can easily run WoW, so I should be able to kick ass on damage meters without latency or FPS getting in the way. Now, if only I could bring myself to get used to a 17' screen again...

EDIT: I know I originally planned to be up and running within two weeks of my departure from Switzerland. Unfortunately, as those of you who follow me on Facebook know, I had to sort out very serious - and unexpected - legal issues that set me back financially by quite a bit. As a result, my purchase had to be postponed until the completion of the next transaction - the one that is currently being delayed by overseas authorities.
I really am sorry for dropping out of the raid team for longer than originally intended, but I assure you there's nothing I can do to speed up the process other than calling my contact in Switzerland every day asking whether the money has arrived yet (which I asssure you I'm doing religiously).

Seems like that's exactly what I'm going to do - if all goes as planned, I should be back in Switzerland within 2 weeks or so (depending how long it takes the Danish Immigration Service to send the paperwork necessary for the residence permit). Once that is granted, I should be able to enter Switzerland.
